Protome Arelatensis
Protome Arelatensis est effigies hominis cuiusdam saeculo I a.C.n. sive I p.C.n. sculpta, anno 2008 sub Rhodano fluvio iuxta Arelate reperta, ibi hodie in museo praefecturae servata. Archaeologi statim C. Caesaris faciem recognoverunt[1][2] et protomam furtim post Caesarem necatum deiectam suggesserunt.[3] Alii autem Caesaris effigiem esse negaverunt, inter quos Maria Beard et Paulus Zanker;[4] multi hanc imaginem a protoma Tusculana discrepantem adseveraverunt. De hac re incertitudo manet.[5]
