Os hyoideum[1] sive os hyoides[2][3] est parvum os infra linguam situm, unicum ossium corporis, quod non articulo cum aliis ossibus colligatum est. Nonnullis in tetrapodis (velut chamaeleonidis) os hyoideum linguae extroflexione fungit illam sustinens rigidamque faciens.
