Orbus, vel orphanus (Graece ορφανός[1]), est impubes qui a genitoribus reicitur vel cuius genitores mortui sunt. Orphani multi in orphanotrophia mittuntur, sed pueri saepe paupertati, laboris impuberum vel obligatis, mercatui hominum, vel suicidio compelluntur. Causa orbitatis saepe paupertas vel morbus mentis esse potest.
