ISOTYPE
ISOTYPE (Anglice International System of Typographic Picture Education ‘Formula Eruditionis per Tabulas Typographicas inter Gentes Apta’) est modus nexuum socialium, technologicorum, biologicorum, historicorumque tabularum pictarum ostendendorum. Constat in grege abstractorum regulatorumque symbolorum, qui, una cum praecipuis indiciis de modo easdem figuras coniungendi, iteratione in serie utendo, ad notiones sociales et scientificas repraesentandas adhibentur.[1]
Cum haec ratio apud museum oeconomiae societatisque Vindobonense(en) inter annos 1925 et 1934 primum orta esset, innotuit nomine Rationis Vindobonensis pro Statistica Picta.[2] Conditor et rector musei, Otto Neurath, fuit creator et contemplator princeps talis rationis, Gerardo Arntz pictore tabularum.
Nomen "ISOTYPE" ad hanc rationem significandam circa anno 1935 adhibitum est, cum studiosi huius disciplinae fascismo in Austria orto coacti essent ut Vindobonam relinquerent.
