Herpetologia (e Graeco ἑρπετόν 'reptile' + λόγος 'studium') est ramus zoologiae qui Amphibia (Anura, Salamandridas aliaque Caudata (Urodela), et Gymnophiona) et Reptilia (Serpentes, Lacertilia, Amphisbaenia, Testudines, Crocodilia (vel Crocodylia), et Sphenodontia) tractat. Batrachologia, subdisciplina herpetologiae, solum ad amphibia spectat.
