recensereI do not mean this insultingly, but have you ever thought of starting your own wiki? You could call it Catholopaedia and you could use it to say whatever you wanted, in whatever language you wanted. You could have hidden images in every page, and no one would ever be arguing with you. Just a thought.--Ioshus (disp) 14:40, 10 Februarii 2007 (UTC)
- I have a totally different suggestion from Ioshus. I would hope you'd stay here, Alexanderr, but focus on other issues. The Internet and the advertisement hoardings of "Western" countries are plastered with images and suggestions far more prurient and offensive than any paintings from Pompeii. Indeed we do have to worry about the world we are creating for our children and grandchildren. Knowing a bit too much about how Roman brothels were decorated will not be the worst of their problems, I think. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 17:04, 10 Februarii 2007 (UTC)
- I was not suggesting he leave here at all, Andrew, just that wikis are easy to download and operate, if someone wishes. It can be however you want it to be, you can even limit who may become a member.--Ioshus (disp)
- I have a totally different suggestion from both, see Disputatio_Vicipaediae:Imagines_in_disputatione#Praeferentiae_meae. --Rolandus 17:12, 10 Februarii 2007 (UTC)
- I think that all people who in good faith want to contribute should be welcome to do so ! ¶ My main worry about the project as it stands is that it features European(-American) matters far more than it does the rest of the world : it has dozens (hundreds?) of articles on inconsequential & nugatory European hamlets & artists, but few on even the major metropolises & artistic giants of the rest of the world. I'm going to try to work on that, but I keep getting sidetracked ! ¶ Notice that most disputations take place here in English ; in part that's because many of us are native speakers of it, but also in part because English has become the world's lingua franca. An unforeseen irony of our linguistic practices here is that people who come to Vicipaedia to improve their Latin may end up also improving their English ! IacobusAmor 17:44, 10 Februarii 2007 (UTC)

- Redeo ad linguam Latinam. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 17:57, 10 Februarii 2007 (UTC)
- Ita, modo Anglice loquor ut tirones me intelligant, et praecipue in pagina huius usoris, qui me prius admonuit ne sibi Latine loquar.
