Psychotherapista or psychotherapeuta? recensere

Psychotherapista seems to be derived from some Modern languages (like English for example). In Ancient Greek, the form θεραπιστης is not attested. They actually use θεραπευτής (Liddell & Scott). I can not find in Lewis and Short, derivatives of this form, but a Latinized form such as therapeuta seems better than therapista. Is anyone in favor to rename this categoria to psychotherapeutae? And this form survives in, for example, French psychothérapeute, German Psychotherapeut, Italian psicoterapeuta, Romanian psihoterapeut, Spanish psicoterapeuta. Against the English neologism, surely the classical form is to be preferred, as it is with bellum orbis terrarum and elsewhere, except when it's a technical term of art, as in taxinomia biologica. I have not found psychotherapeuta yet, but therapeuta is mentioned in Kraus' (1844) Kritisch-etymologisches medicinisches Lexikon. Somewhere I read that in English (I have to check my sources) therapist is derived from the earlier form therapeutist. Wimpus (disputatio) 23:29, 6 Ianuarii 2014 (UTC)Reply
I agree that (psycho)therapeuta looks like the best option, especially since classical Latin did have other agent nouns in -euta (brabeuta, buleuta, emphyteuta, periodeuta, toreuta).[1] Also, modern Greek uses θεραπευτής, and French uses thérapeute. Dear Lesgles, thank you for your response. In Johann Jacob Hoffmann's (1698) Lexicon Universale, the form therapeutae is used for the Jewish sect at the time of Jesus. So, another source for therapeuta. With kind regards, Wimpus (disputatio) 08:30, 7 Ianuarii 2014 (UTC)Reply
I created this category, but (so far as I can guess at this distance in time) I did so only to solve the problem of redlink categories devised by some other Vicipaedian. I probably didn't consider alternatives. I agree that "Psychotherapeutae" is a better word. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 09:25, 7 Ianuarii 2014 (UTC)Reply
Dear Andrew, thank you for your response and my apologies for my responding not any sooner. I will submit next week a request for a move (in case no counter evidence is presented). With kind regards, Wimpus (disputatio) 16:53, 11 Ianuarii 2014 (UTC)Reply
