Corrections

This article will need a lot of work. The title itself might be construed as an error: normally empires are named with adjectives, c.f. Imperium Romanum, Imperium Cossanum and so on. However, in this case I might let it stand, as in Latin sources that I've read, Inca or Inga is always a title of the emperor, rather than the gentilic for the whole tribe (who are instead called Peruani or Peruviani, though obviously that won't work so well for us), so one might say Imperium Incae in much the same way one might hypothetically say "Kingdom of the Shah" and there would be no doubt what kingdom you were refering to.

In general I think this article would be greatly helped by reference to pre-existing Latin sources on Peru. I will start a Fontes section below, starting with the ones I can think of off the top of my head. If anyone can add something, please do. --Iustinus (01:34, forgot to sign)

Here's a useful quote from De Bry, VI, pl. 12, ad cap V: "Intelligens Franciscus Pizarrus quam opulenta esset vrbs Cuzco Ingarum Imperii Regia, Caxamalcam deferens, eò proficiscitur" ... so Benzonus at least used Ingarum Imperium. Again, the Genitive probably is because Ingae are the emperors, not the people. --Iustinus 05:34, 5 Augusti 2006 (UTC)

Spelling

I have corrected spelling of Quechua words to make them closer to Quechua pronunciation using classical 22-letter alphabet, such as Romans would spell them. "hu" are replaced with "V/u", "y" with "i", "ay" with "ae", "qu" with "c".217.20.217.245 15:15, 5 Octobris 2007 (UTC)
