In nummis suis, Latine scriptis, nomen Elizabeth habet (sicut lemma nostrum) sed haec forma Latinitatis haud olet. Vide imaginem in pagina nostra (sed minime "officialem") cum nomine Elisabetha. In documentis an Elisabetha, anne Elizabetha reperitur? Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 12:26, 3 Octobris 2011 (UTC)Reply

Iam "Elizabetha" in fontibus coaevis confirmavi. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 14:51, 13 Iunii 2020 (UTC)Reply

Economy in Latin

recensere

The page on Elizabeth l uses frugalitas for economy. Most of the dictionaries at the bottom of the Wiktionary page for that word list economy as a translation of frugalitas, but, I believe, in the old fashioned value positive sense of the word, synonymous with 'economy, temperance, thriftiness, frugality; and in gen., worth, virtue (the Gr. σωφροσύνη; class.). Quoted from Charlton Lewis. Not in the modern value neutral sense. I propose economia, or to change the clause to ' the country was poor'.

Latine tibi respondeo, Terrymonkey, ut alii aequaliter colloquium intellegant. Recte dicis! Legere possumus paginam "Oeconomica", ubi usum hodiernum "oeconomiae, oeconomicae" etc. videbimus. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 14:47, 20 Iunii 2020 (UTC)Reply
