Parabolamentum?
recensereParabolamentum = parlamentum ? IacobusAmor (disputatio) 12:26, 11 Iunii 2015 (UTC)
- I can find a few sources giving parabolamentum as the origin of parlement, but I'm not sure they are to be trusted, and I can't find any using it in Latin. The OED and the Trésor de la langue française say parlement was formed in French from parler and -ment, and that the medieval Latin parl(i)amentum was borrowed from French. It's true that parler comes from parabola, and I imagine someone was trying to reconstruct the Latin word without checking to see if it was actually used.
