Si re vera volumus "Societas ..." dicere, erit "Societas Alcoholicorum Anonymorum"; sed nescio cur hanc rem proponis, mi Jondel. Aliae Vicipaediae multae duo verba linguis propriis convertunt -- vide Wikidata. Mihi "Alcoholici Anonymi" satis bene sonat. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 13:09, 23 Augusti 2013 (UTC)Reply
Fas es! Ratione melius sit "Alcoholics Anonymous" more nostra , eodem nomine. Solum nostra sit cum vebo "Societas"! Movendum est venia vestra. Jondel (disputatio) 14:03, 23 Augusti 2013 (UTC)Reply
Concordo cum Andrew Dalby. Nomen huius paginae sequitur aliis Vicipaediis et sequatar. Kraŭs (disputatio) 14:54, 23 Augusti 2013 (UTC)Reply
Video tuam problemam: pluralitatem. "Societas Alcoholicorum Anonymorum" sit satis bene. Kraŭs (disputatio) I'm sorry, my Latin is probably not good enough to be involved in this discussion; I just had a lot of downtime because a friend was supposed to pick me up to move some wood about 1 hour ago. My apologies. Kraŭs (disputatio) 15:29, 23 Augusti 2013 (UTC)Reply

It seems everyone would agree to Alcoholics Anonymous because there is a policy not to create (aaas much aaaas possible) new Latin words /phrases and therefore it would be good to use the original word/phrase from the source. Beside, if there was a word "Societas" , the Latin version would be only version with a 'Society' word. I will be making the move in a while because it is my habit to wait for anybody else would have ballistic reactions they would like to express.Jondel (disputatio) 15:37, 23 Augusti 2013 (UTC)Reply

Well, I just broke off to have a German lesson! Now I'm back. Jondel, [nothing ballistic, but ...] it seems to me there is no reason to insist on English here. This society exists in many countries: in general (see my link to Wikidata above) they all use the name in their own languages. They say "Alcooliques anonymes" in French, "Alcolisti Anonimi" in Italian, "Anonyme Alkoholiker" in German, so why not Alcoholici Anonymi in Latin?
It's perfectly true that we retain the original names of commercial companies (societates mercatoriae) because their names are often trademarks, like Apple. I don't think that's a relevant issue here. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 15:52, 23 Augusti 2013 (UTC)Reply
Looking again at the article, I strongly agree with Jondel that it's important that we give the original name of the society that was founded in 1935. It's part of the history. Well, that's the English name; so, yes, we must certainly mention it. But this is now an international movement with names in lots of languages, so I feel that our Latin pagename is OK. Ich stimme mit ihnen überein, und deswegen habe ich die Movenda-Markierung entfernt und einige (nicht zureichende) Korrekturen gemacht. Neander (disputatio) 17:10, 23 Augusti 2013 (UTC)Reply
