Celtis barbouri (binomen a Radulpho Chaney anno 1927 statuta) est species praehistorica arborum fructiferorum familiae Cannabacearum in Serica aevo Pleistocaeno sponte crescens eisdem fere locis ubi hodie Celtis sinensis et C. bungeana florent. Semina huius speciei a Georgio Barbour anno 1924 primum reperta sunt.
Iuxta ossa hominidarum speciei Hominis erecti annis inter 500 000 et 250 000 viventium, in speluncis Zhoukoudian iacentia, semina arboris generis Celtis, partim combusta, reperta sunt.[1] An hominidae ipsi fructus coquebant et comedebant, incertum manet.[2]
