Oppidi collocatio in comitatu Devonia

Bathentona, vulgo Bampton est oppidum comitatus Devoniae in Anglia meridioccidentali situm. Nominibus antiquis agnoscitur Badentone (1086),^[1] Baentona (1130), Bathentona (1156). Nomen e verbo Anglosaxonico Bæþhæmatun "apud eos qui ad thermas habitant" derivatur.^[2]Ibi nundinae tenebantur ab anno 1210, mercatus autem ab anno 1258.^[3]
