Citrus maxima
(Redirectum de Aurantium maximum)
Citrus maxima est species arborum fructiferarum quae ad genus citrorum pertinet. Hoc binomen ab Elmer Drew Merrill anno 1917 statutum est, opere utens Ioanne Burmanno, qui anno 1755 binomen Aurantium maximum definiverat e descriptione et depictione Georgii Everardi Rumphii in Herbario Amboinensi (1741). Ab eo nomen commune Latinum limo decumanus propositus est. Synonymum C. grandis iuxta opera Linnaei temptavit Petrus Osbeck anno 1757.[1]
Fructus Citrus maxima paene maturus
Coria citri, Citri maximae ut videtur, inter vestigia archaeobotanica reperta sunt apud locos archaeologicos Khao Sam Kaeo et Phu Khao Thong qui emporia fuerunt itinerum mercatoriorum inter India et Serica a saeculo IV ad I a.C.n.[2]
