Vernonia amygdalina
Vernonia amygdalina (binomen ab Alire Raffeneau Delile anno 1826 statutum) est species fruticum e familia Asteracearum, inter 2 et 5 metris altorum, in Africa tropicali endemicorum, foliis ellipticis ad 20 cm. longis, foliis et cortice asperis. Medulla surculorum amarissima ab hominibus atque etiam a Panibus troglodytis morbo parasitico afflictis manducatur.[1]
