Solanum vescum
F.Muell.
Solanum vescum (binomen anno 1855 a Ferdinando de Mueller statutum)[1] est species generis Solani, in Australia meridio-orientali sponte gignens, quae fructus edules producit. Arbustum ad altitudinem duorum fere metrorum crescens post incendia duos vel tres annos feracissime viret, qua ratione indigenae Gunai regionem Gippsland colentes terras idoneas ad messes horum fructuum incitandas quinto quoque anno accendebant.[2]
Nomen Anglicum huius specie gunyang e lingua Gunai deducitur. Fructus primum anno 1855 in opere geographico J. Bonwick descriptus est: "Fructus gunyang thiniorum Gippslandensium saporem magnitudinemque habet Actinidiae deliciosae, frutice generis solani altitudine 6 pedibus proveniens."[3] Ferdinandus Mueller botanista eodem fere anno "bacam" descripsit "magnam, viridem, fere globosam ... plena maturitate attincta carnosam."[4]
