Linnaeon
Linnaeon (-i, n.[1] vel -is, m.[2]) est categoria taxinomica gradus speciei.
Cum species animalium, plantarum, aliorumque organismorum vivorum perdiversae sint nec definitio speciei unica enuntiari possit,[3] nonnumquam, praesertim in botanica, iuxta propositionem Ioannis Pauli Lotsy, inter species distinguuntur linnaeones, “species magnae”, in commemorationem Caroli Linnaei nominatae, et iordanones, “species parvae”. Linnaeon est “integralitas individuorum inter se similiorum quam respectu aliorum”; linnaeones saepius speciebus plantarum a Linnaeo distinctis respondent.[4]
Linnaeon a specie collectiva in hoc differt quod illa in unitates separatas (microspecies) dividitur, linnaeon vero non semper; commutatis verbis, haud omnes species variabilitatem magnam exhibentes sunt species collectivae. Exempli gratia Erophila verna, planta angiosperma famliae Cruciferarum, species (linnaeon) ab Alexio Jordan in circiter ducentos iordanones divisa, hodie variabilitatem continuam potius exhibere putatur, unde et haud amplius dividitur.[5]
