Ichthyothere terminalis est arbor familiae Asteracearum in Amazonia sponte gignens. E foliis pharmacum ab indigenis extrahitur quo pisces ad capiendum percutiunt. Idem pharmacum in usum medicorum investigatur.

Binomen Ichthyothere terminalis a Sidney Fay Blake anno 1921 statutum est post Curtium Sprengel, qui anno 1826 Rolandra terminalis scripserat.
