Gammaretrovirus (-i, n.) est genus familiae retroviridae. Multae species gammaretroviri oncogena habent et sarcomas leuchaemiasque efficere notae sunt. Exempli sunt virus leuchaemiae murinae et virus leuchaemiae felinae.[1] XMRV est gammaretrovirus hominum.[2]

Multa gammaretrovira RNA structuram, signum ad granum viri in capside includendum nominatur, partiunt.[3]
