Descriptio Skiing at Rockcliffe Park, circa 1895. Lord Frederick Hamilton, aide-de-camp to the Governor General, Lord Lansdowne, introduced the sport in Ottawa in 1887. He was greeted by universal derision when he tried the slopes of Rockcliffe Park.
