Explicatio sermonis, vel studia sermonis, sunt ulla? ex variis rationibus ad enodandum usum linguae scriptae, vocalis, vel gesticulatoriae vel ullius eventus semiotici significantis.
Res explicationis sermonis—sermo, scriptura, colloquium, eventus communicativi—varie definiuntur per ordines cohaerentes sententiarum, propositionum, actuum orationis, vel vicissitudinum sermonis. Contra multum linguisticae traditionalis, explicatores sermonis usum linguae non solum explicant "praeter limitem sententiae," sed etiam usum linguae "naturaliter accidentem," et non exempla solum excogitata, enodare malunt. Linguistica textualis est cognata. Maior discrepantia explicationis sermonis et linguisticae textualis est quod illa sociopsychologicas hominis vel hominum proprietates, haec structuram textualem, retegere conatur.[1]
