Notable?
recensereMasses of links here to the Zoltan Deme website, but I don't see any independent opinion on his work. The link to amazon.com is useless: it lists three books, none of which is available. IMDB lists three items in which he played a minor role. I think we need some external evidence that he is notable and that these publications have been read by somebody. - The English wikipedia has eagle-eyed watchdogs who look out for that sort of thing and remove, sometimes within hours ("speedy deletion"), biographies of people judged by their criteria to be nonnotable. That the article has survived there for more than two and a half years suggests that it has sufficient substance to be retained, despite the style of its prose. Since we are few and they are many, your best bet might be to raise this issue over there and see what happens. IacobusAmor (disputatio) 11:06, 30 Novembris 2012 (UTC)
- Well, no, I don't aim to clear the Augean stables over there. Here on Vicipaedia we do (and need to) maintain a minimum standard, and this article doesn't reach it (in my view). It surely needs a couple of external sources that confirm Deme's notability. I suspect he wrote the article: maybe he'll turn up and add them. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 12:22, 30 Novembris 2012 (UTC)
- Ah, now I see, looking at the history, that you created the page. So ... why? How did you come across him? Can't you cite the source that alerted you to his work? If you like it, I suppose there must be something in it ...
- I just deleted the sections containing notes written in English and not translated. Perhaps you were intending to translate them: if so, please revert my last two edits to the page. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 12:34, 30 Novembris 2012 (UTC)
- The article turned up in a category in the English wiki, and one didn't particularly like it, but easily, with a minimum of effort, imported it to support a category in Vicipaedia, since everyone knows how eager you are to delete categories (not created by you) that have fewer than four examples, including categories that, as everyone familiar with their subjects knows, will eventually have far more than four. ::winkwink:: IacobusAmor (disputatio) 12:57, 30 Novembris 2012 (UTC)
- I am outraged by the way you've wasted my time in this discussion. I've tried to suggest ways to make the page viable: that apparently wasn't your aim.
- Your criticism of my category work, which doesn't seem in any way relevant here, can of course be raised at the Taberna. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 17:05, 30 Novembris 2012 (UTC)

De "Delenda"
recensereDeletion of possibly self-promoting websites and addition of publications verifiably in the Library of Congress (with documentation of film-acting listed in the IMBD) should tilt the balance in favor of retention of this article. IacobusAmor (disputatio) 14:17, 2 Decembris 2012 (UTC)
- I don't want to be awkward, but IMDB and the LofC don't show notability. All US publications, however uninteresting to anyone but their author, are supposed to be deposited in LofC. The most minor of bit-part-players in TV shows are likely to be listed at IMDB. I'd say we need a couple of published reviews or comments on Deme's work. The same (at least) will be required at en:wiki -- believe me, I've worked on several such cases -- when anyone over there happens to notice the page. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 15:12, 2 Decembris 2012 (UTC)
- If you look a bit further, e.g. on Google, you will find (at least, I found) nothing but social-networking stuff and self-written stuff. If you look further still, on en:wiki, you find another badly written article about his film en:Prometheus (Zoltan Deme film), a film that is is "unreleased" incidentally. That article was started by an account that's been blocked as a sock-puppet ... Now, here's a funny thing, Deme's biography en:Zoltan Deme was started by en:user:Brian dalee, the parent account of the same sockpuppet ring. Since there is no independent information available elsewhere about Deme, one feels a growing suspicion that he himself is the sockpuppeteer. Iacobe, he doesn't deserve the accolade of a translation on Vicipaedia. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 16:56, 2 Decembris 2012 (UTC)
