Should it be Index praenominum Latine redditorum? These are not nomina but praenomina (first names, Christian names), I think. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 21:09, 5 Aprilis 2008 (UTC)Reply

The A and B sections of the list now include an increasing number of Italian surnames, so my suggestion above may not be relevant. But what's the purpose of the list? It can surely never include all surnames, not even all Italian ones. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 16:06, 6 Aprilis 2008 (UTC)Reply
Assentio Andreae.

  • Aveni(a) (Italice) = Avenius (exempli gratia Rufus Festus Avenius)

I'm not sure. The problem with this page, if I'm not mistaken, is that it was created almost wholly by Usor:Gualterius de Reptilibus; he had very definite ideas about names, and these are the names that mattered to him. Some are forenames, some are surnames. The Latin equivalents are certified only by him: some don't agree with our rules. The forenames are probably mostly OK; the surnames (I suspect) are unverifiable and useless to us. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 18:26, 6 Decembris 2009 (UTC)Reply

Then I do not see the point of this page. It covers largely the index praenominum, and if the surnames which appear are probably wrong, then it is misleading. Should the contribuenda be turned into a delenda then?--Xaverius 18:38, 6 Decembris 2009 (UTC)Reply
He hasn't been back for a while. But rather than delete it we might move it into his userspace? Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 21:02, 6 Decembris 2009 (UTC)Reply

Movi. Notandum est (Usor:Ceylon supra dixit) praenomina huius indicis utilia esse; possumus aut glossarium novum multilingue praenominum e hac pagina creare, aut praenomina in paginam "Index praenominum" addere. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 10:25, 7 Decembris 2009 (UTC)Reply
