Disputatio Formulae:About redirects

Latest comment: abhinc 16 annos by Andrew Dalby

This certainly hasn't reached the point of being an accepted rule; it was just an idea. I suggested it to Ioshus yesterday à propos of the dubious name Leodis for Leeds. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 18:12, 8 Iunii 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sorry if I was displeasing you when I added this point. However, I think it is a perfect guideline. Making a redirect tells nothing. There is no defined relation between a redirect and the target. The target should keep information about the redirection if there is a valid relation. I think there are very rare cases where a redirect hurts. Especially in this case there would be a reason to mention this form if it is wrong and gets so many hits. Telling that something is wrong is a valid information. --Rolandus 19:38, 8 Iunii 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I would agree with this guideline. Redirects are cheap. --Iustinus 21:54, 8 Iunii 2007 (UTC)Reply
I withdraw my objection. I'm going to save my breath for the nuntii/nuntia fight. =] --Ioshus (disp) 00:54, 12 Iunii 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ha! In principle I think you've won that one. It's just that it's so difficult to change a habit, especially a vicipaedia habit. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 08:54, 12 Iunii 2007 (UTC)Reply
