I rewrote the bit about the origin. Seeing "versio animalis domestici a Hestere", I thought -- "I don't believe this!" -- and I was right. The English article says Essa was a pet name for Esther. Nothing to do with a domestic animal: a "pet name" is a babyish form of the name, or one used between lovers.

I also removed "Ionathan Swift nomen quoque cepiverit e dea Phanessa." I did it because, although en:wiki says this, if you follow the link there is no goddess "Phanessa", only an Orphic god Phanes. So, unless a real source turns up, this looks to me like a bit of creative vandalism by one of the many mystic mythologists on en:wiki. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 15:31, 19 Februarii 2013 (UTC)Reply

Greetings Andrew. That is what "pet name" means. :) I was wrong. I thought it was about a "version of a name for a pet". The article looks better now. Thanks for your contribution. :)
