I believe the Latin for "video" as in the system and means of recording should be "videographia". "videomusica" is the Latin word I invented for music videos and is based on the use of the word "videomusic" in other romance languages. The MTV VMAs are essentially an award show for music videos, so "praemia videomusicarum" makes sense. -KedemusKedemus 07:57, 12 Septembris 2007 (UTC)

It may make sense if you're trying to translate 'Awards of Videomusics', but why pluralize videomusics? The noun music is for most purposes unquantifiable, but pluralizing it in English is idiomatic in reference to the musical cultures of distinct peoples or societies ("Japanese and Cherokee musics"); the same pattern should apply to compounds based on music, such as night music and water music and (if English must have a new term) videomusic. The music performed by Britney & Madonna is so similar that speaking of "Britney's & Madonna's musics" seems like a stretch, as then of course "Britney's & Madonna's videomusics" would be (whereas "Britney's and Madonna's music[al] videos" would not be). ¶ Even if videomusica, -ae were an apt word, would idiomatic Latin prefer to use the derived adjective videomusicus, -a, -um so as to produce the title Praemia Videomusica'? Or would a preposition be better? According to L&S, Cicero (praemia alicui dare pro re aliquā and reddere alicui dare pro re aliquā) and Ovid (tibi pro scelere) use pro, and, if I'm reading L&S right, Cicero also uses it with ad and a gerundive (elicere ad faciendum aliquid). "Videomusica" is one music video while "videomusicae" is more than one music video. This is an award show for several music videos, that's why the plural. Iacobus Amor got me thinking of how to better name this awards program in Latin. While these awards are mostly for music videos, as the English title "Video Music Awards" implies it is also for music and videos without respect to the other. Hence I was thinking of "Praemia Videorum et Musicae" et "Praemia Videographiorum et Musicae" (from "videum" and "videographium", possible Latinizations of "video"). However, these titles, especially the latter, would be way too long. Therefoe I was thinking of naming them "Praemia Videomusicalia"- VIdeomusical Awards, with "videomusicalis" being a compound adjective referring to both music and videos, functioning much like the English word "audiovisual".
