Disputatio:Monstrum vermiculatum volatile

Cool article. But I'm having a hard time with "Spaghellinum" for spaghetti (typo?), and Google returns only the Vicipaedia entry. The Lexicon Recentis Latinitatis s.v. spaghetto suggests pasta vermiculata. [1] [2] Montivagus 20:42, 17 Iunii 2007 (UTC)Reply

Awh, but if spaghetti's vermiculata, then what'll vermicelli be? FWIW, spaghetto is a diminitive of spago, ‘string,’ from later Latin spacus, from which one would get spacelli. Spag(h)elli may have its own justification from elsewhere. —Mucius Tever 01:14, 18 Iunii 2007 (UTC)Reply

Aha. Thank you. I can never look at a bowl of pasta the same again. Montivagus 01:35, 18 Iunii 2007 (UTC)Reply

We copied the lemma, obviously, from :el:... We had a good reason for spaghellinum, I assure you, let me refind what it were...--Ioshus (disp) 03:44, 18 Iunii 2007 (UTC)Reply

No need to do so for me. The 'ells' and 'tees' on my computer's display look very similar, so I rushed to decide that it was a typo. Myces convinced me otherwise. (FWIW, note that you seem to have erased / overwritten my second remark above!) Vale. Montivagus 04:07, 18 Iunii 2007 (UTC)Reply

I seem to have replaced it. Vale, Ben!--Ioshus (disp) 04:24, 18 Iunii 2007 (UTC)Reply
