Disputatio:Lingua gesticulatoria Gallica

Nomen

"Gallia" is often used for modern France, but we as encyclopedists have different words to distinguish ancient Gaul (Gallia) from medieval/modern France (Francia) and from the French language (Francogallica). I suggest moving this to "Lingua Gesticulatoria Francica" if the range of this language corresponds more with political France, or "... No, rereading the text, I see that it doesn't correspond with either of them. And since ancient Gaul by some definitions included Helvetia, maybe this is the best possible name :) Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 09:09, 1 Augusti 2014 (UTC)

The fact that the deaf people of Switzerland are counted twice (also at Lingua Gesticulatoria Italica) is disturbing. The claim is that all of them participated in the creation of both languages. We'd need a very good source for that. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 09:18, 1 Augusti 2014 (UTC)
