Disputatio:Georgius Stiernhielmus

Sorry for writing in English. He calls himself in genitive Georgi (with one i) Stiernhielmi in the heading of Hercules:
Georgi Stiernhielmi
HERCULES
Wouldn't that be Georgus Stiernhielmus in the nominative? Skvattram 20:38, 15 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)
Erat/Fuit
recensereIsn't imperfect (erat) a better verb form than perfect (fuit) when you tell who somebody was, since it is does not describe an event or action but rather a state? Skvattram 20:50, 15 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)
- Well, it is legal to contract -ii to I (though I think in general we should avoid it in article text). Furtermore, Georgius is an ancient, well attested name, whereas I will be surpised if anyone who knew what they were doing ever used *Georgus. --Iustinus 20:58, 15 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)
