Vocabulum? --Fabullus 08:30, 5 Aprilis 2008 (UTC)Reply

Verbum? --Rolandus 08:42, 5 Aprilis 2008 (UTC)Reply
It it true that verba (in plural) is used in the sense of words, and even the singular sometimes means word. However, in specialized texts verbum = verb, and this is also the case with our article Verbum, which accordingly links to English Verb. Vocabulum would be the more general term, comprising both verbs and nouns and any other word-type. --Fabullus 08:53, 5 Aprilis 2008 (UTC)Reply
I suppose a case could also be made for Vox, although this would engender new ambiguity. Given that vocabulum is somewhat more technical in meaning and usage than word, I would prefer to have an article Verbum corresponding to Word, and another one Verbum (pars orationis) corresponding to Verb, and of course the necessary disambiguation page.--Ceylon 10:18, 5 Aprilis 2008 (UTC)Reply
Or verbum (grammatica)? --Rolandus 10:21, 5 Aprilis 2008 (UTC)Reply
Apparently, it was eventually decided Verbum (grammatica generalis)--Rafaelgarcia 21:30, 27 Iulii 2009 (UTC)Reply
