Who is this guy?--Ioshus (disp) 15:08, 12 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm, well the English wikipedia tends to be a lot nastier about things like this than we are, but I see even they haven't nominated this for deletion, just marked it as sourceless. I am no good at judging who is "notable" enough for wikipedia, but he does get a number of google hits. --Iustinus 15:17, 12 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)
- I have created Vicipaedia:Gravitas to discuss relevance. --Rolandus 17:08, 12 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)
Suggested Corrections
recensereVcelloho: since this article is short, and I don't want to step on your toes, I'm going to suggest some changes here on the talk page instead of making them myself.
- The page should be moved to Christophorus Benfey, in accordance with Vicipaedia:Translatio nominum propriorum.
- You may want to put {{tiro}} at the top of the page. That indicates that you want help with your Latin (you may also find that people are nicer about correcting you when you do this ;) )
- You will definitely find that people are nicer, if you do this...--Ioshus (disp) 06:42, 14 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)
- Magister should probably be professor: even though magister is a more classical word, to many it might suggest a lower level "teacher."
- Saecli, while technically OK, should probably be spelled out the long way, saeculi. Better yet, you could link it: [[saeculum 14|saeculi 14]] (though, from the english version of the page, I assume you meant XIX "19", not XIV "14"). Please note that we generally discourage the use of Roman Numerals here (see Vicipaedia:Numeri Romani and links listed there), but many make an exception for the names of centuries.
- Assuming Amherstum is the proper Latin form (you might want to research it), "in Amherst" would be Amhersti (the locative case). But, despite what I have written elsewhere, I think it turns out that verbs of inhabiting normally take an accusative, so Amherstum habitat.
Hope this helps! Good luck with the article. --Iustinus 18:09, 13 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)
