"Mortes" (Ang: "deaths")? Robin Patterson 02:42 ian 18, 2005 (UTC)

Latin tends to use participles where we would be more likely to use abstract nouns. The classic example of this is Ab urbe condita, which is literally "since the founded city," but in English the idiomatic translation is "since the founding of the city." So it seems to me much more Latin to say nati and mortui. The main problem with this is that mortes and natales (unidiomatic as they are) are already quite well established, and it would be a pain in the rear to go through all the years and change this. --Iustinus 04:57 ian 18, 2005 (UTC)
Gratias. Convincing. And one can "fix" the unidiomatic headings as one re-edits or creates new year pages. Robin Patterson 21:40 ian 18, 2005 (UTC)
