Stomatopoda
Stomatopoda sunt ordo crustaceorum marinorum. Neque caridea neque mantodea sunt, sed in quibusdam linguis vulgo appellantur mantodea-caridea (vel simile) solum ex similitudine cum mantidis terrestribus et carideis. Ad 30 centimetra longa crescunt, sed egregia singula ad 38 centimetra relata sunt.[2] Carapacium? stomatopodorum solum posteriorem capitis partem et prima quattuor thoracis segmenta contegit. Stomatopodis sunt varii colores, a fuscis pallescentibus ad vividissimos colores. Haec animalia, quamquam multa et inter praedatores gravissimos in multis humilibus habitationibus marinis zonarum tropicarum et subtropicarum, tenuiter intelleguntur quod multae species in cuniculis et foraminibus celatae degunt.[3]
