Ioannes Henricus McDowell (natus Boksburgi in oppido Africae Australis 7 Martii 1942) est philosophus Africae Australis, olim socius Collegii Magnae Aulae Universitatis Oxoniae et nunc professor universitarius in Universitate Pittsburgi. Latissime de metaphysica, epistemologia, philosophia antiqua, et meta-ethica scripsit, sed eius opus auctoritate gravissumum philosophiam mentis philosophiamque linguae tractat. Alumnus est Collegii Universitatis Rhodesiae et Nyasalandiae
