Indica (Megasthenes)

Indica fuit opus Megasthenis qui anno c. 300 a.C.n. iussu Seleuci I in Indiam iter fecit ad aulam Candraguptae Mauryae posteaque narrationem legationis et descriptionem Indiae conscripsit. Cuius operis, hodie deperditi, fragmenta fere sexaginta apud Arrianum, Diodorum, Strabonem, aliosque servantur. Antiqui multa de rebus Indicis e scriptis Megasthenis didicerunt.
