The martyrdoms were quite well known to the west, and were often alluded to in Latin texts about Japan (e.g. see Pexenfelder's quote on the [[Nagasacium (civitas)#Loci|Nagasacium]] page. I'd bet somewhere we can find a listing of the names of the martyrs in some source or another (I'm presuming that you Latinized the names yourself). Especially since they have been canonized: if you're a saint you almost certainly have an official Latin name. --16:42 apr 14, 2005 (UTC)
