:Latin tends to use participles where we would be more likely to use abstract nouns. The classic example of this is ''Ab urbe condita'', which is literally "since the founded city," but in English the idiomatic translation is "since the founding of the city." So it seems to me much more Latin to say ''nati'' and ''mortui''. The main problem with this is that ''mortes'' and ''natales'' (unidiomatic as they are) are already quite well established, and it would be a pain in the rear to go through all the years and change this. --[[Usor:Iustinus|Iustinus]] 04:57 ian 18, 2005 (UTC)
