Nicotinum
Nicotinum[1][2][3] sive nicotina[1][3] sive nicotia[3] sive nicotianinum[1] seu nicotianina[1] est potens alkaloidum parasympathomimeticum quod in plantis familiae Solanacearum invenitur. Ut agonista nicotinica acetylcholini receptor agit, biosynthesi in radicibus incidens inque foliis cumulans. In 0.6–3.0 centesimis ponderis sicci tabaci consistit,[4] et adest 2–7 µg/kg in variis plantis quae eduntur.[5] Id est chemica antiherbivora, ad insecta specifica; ergo id tempore praeterito late ut insecticida adhibitum est,[6][7][8] et hodie eius analogi, sicut imidacloprid, late adhibentur.
Nomen et historia
recensereNicotinum ex genere Nicotiana nominatur, plerumque in specie Nicotiana tabaco inventa, quae ex Ioanne Nicot de Villemain vicissim appellatur, legato Francico ad Portugalliam, qui, tabacum et semina a Brasilia ad Lutetiam anno 1560 transmittens, eorum usum in medicina promovit. Nicotinum etiam in nonnullis aliis membris familiae Solanacearum reperitur, praecipue in Solano melongena et Solano lycopersico parvis summis praesens.
