Saxum metamorphicum[1] vel lapis metamorphicus est lapis, qui in cortice Telluris metamorphismo producitur. Cortice mota saxa sedimentaria et saxa ignea temperatura altissima vel pressione vel aliqua solutione aquosa vel gasosa afficiuntur et mutantur.

Gneissum, saxum metamorphicum

Mica, gneissum, marmor, quartzites, schistus saxa metamorphica sunt.
