1. Not all Mayan languages have been reported, names in the picture are groups of closely related languages (mutually intelligible) often with the same name.
2. The separations are theoretical reconstructions based on grammar and vocabular differences of today's language as well as phonetic hints from Classical Maya inscriptions (IV-Xth centuries).
