Salve, Talpa~ruwiki!

Ave! Spero te "Vicipaedianum" aut "Vicipaedianam" fieri velle!--Jondel (disputatio) 04:07, 13 Ianuarii 2018 (UTC)Reply

De nominibus gentiliciis Romanis

recensere

Salve optime, Demetri! Iam habemus categorias gentilicias, e.g. Categoria:Gens Pompeia, in quas debemus inserere biographicas de Romanis paginas (sed, sicut alibi, saepe obliviscimur!) An pagina discretiva de nomine Pompeio, eosdem Romanos omnes quam categoria enumerans, utile erit, mea mente quaero. Fortasse melius erit, in pagina "Pompeius (nomen)", sub rubrica Romanorum nexum singulum ad categoriam inserere omnesque de Romanis paginas in categoriam respectivam addi curare.

Tali ratione usum abbreviationum modo generali deprecamur.

Tu, sicut ego, redirectionem Russ. nuper creavisti: cur non? Sed (mea mente) multo melius erit in paginis nostris "Theodisce", "Russice", "Anglice" sicut antea, non "Theod.", "Russ.", "Angl." scribere. Tu autem quid dicis? Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 17:07, 17 Novembris 2019 (UTC)Reply

Demetrius Talpa (disputatio) 17:55, 17 Novembris 2019 (UTC)Reply

De argumentis |tempus= et |disputatio= in aliquibus formulis

recensere

Hi Demetrius,

I saw that you had remvoved the |tempus= and |disputatio= parameters from the transclusion of {{Movenda}} in Nodus Gordianus. Recently I upgraded a group of templates in a backward-compatible way (so you can always use them as you always did) in order to be callable via {{subst:petitio}}. So, basically, what I did was writing in the page

{{subst:petitio|movenda|Nodus Gordianus}}

and it got automatically transformed into

{{movenda|Nodus Gordianus|tempus=20230813050454|disputatio=petitio-tempore-20230813050454-incepta}}

The two arguments |tempus= and |disputatio=, after playing a role in the “petition” process, continue to play a role also after a message has been left in the talk page (i.e. when the “petition” is complete).

In particular, |tempus= allows to fix the exact moment in which the template was added to the page, so that after thirty days it can be considered “neglected” and appear like it currently does at the "Aquatica" page. Without it, the date of the last page edit will be used instead, but that will be error-prone and can never forbid people to edit the page without touching the template – which will make the latter go back undetected for another thirty days.

The |disputatio= parameter, as the name suggests, allows to add an anchor to the right section of the talk page where to look for the related discussion. To be honest, in this particular case, after adding the template to Nodus Gordius I made some changes to {{subst:petitio}}, so the link generated there was in fact broken. However if you use {{subst:petitio}} now it will work :-)

Long story short. You can still use {{Movenda}} as you always did. But if you see the |tempus= and |disputatio= parameters in a page please do not remove them. If a link to the right talk section might indeed not seem very important, the ability to be precise in detecting neglected templates I believe is a worth feature to keep. Oh! And you can also give {{subst:petitio}} a try next time you ask to move/delete/etc. a page! Don't get scared if the requested template will not appear immediately: just follow the instructions. --Grufo (disputatio) 14:22, 16 Augusti 2023 (UTC)Reply

I accidentally deleted the parameters (I accidentally erased the entire formulas and restored them from memory). Sorry, I'll keep that in mind.
I've seen discussions here reopened after 10 years, so after 30 days to call something "neglected"... mmm... Demetrius Talpa (disputatio) 18:51, 16 Augusti 2023 (UTC)Reply
No problem :-) The mechanism won't remove a template just because it is neglected, it will only signal that it is and will add the page to Categoria:Motiones neglectae (in the case of move requests). It is a big banner on top of a page after all, and I think that after thirty days (or we can decide a longer period) something must be done. If after years new material emerges nothing forbids to open a discussion again. I happened to do something similar recently at “Aëroplanum” (I do favour “aëriplanum” indeed – apparently already the ancients followed a simple rule: aero- if the second word was Greek, but aeri- if the second word was Latin – compare aërivagus-vagus – with aëromantis-μαντεία). --Grufo (disputatio) 20:46, 16 Augusti 2023 (UTC)Reply
