This man was born named Emmanuil Iyezekhilovich Levin in Russian Kovno; -as is the nominative singular masculine suffix added by the newly independent Lithuanians. I say it should thus rather be Levinus. - [Anon]

We don't Latinize modern surnames unless a source does it for us; therefore, for us, the choice is between "Levinas", "Lévinas" and "Levin". That's enough choices to be getting on with ... :) Any comments from others? Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 10:40, 10 Maii 2013 (UTC)
