In case you are wondering what I meant by "quasi canes" I meant "as dogs are kept by people". I didn't want to use custodare twice in a sentence though so... I left it out hoping it would be understandable, also I substituted the word "canes" for whatever the latin word for pet is because I didn't know it. So canes is actually an example.
