Bisexualitas,[2] vel fortasse diphylophilia,[3] est amatoria attrahendi vis, sexualis attrahendi vis, vel mores sexuales erga mares et feminas,[4][5][6] vel erga plus quam unum sexum vel genus.[7] Quod etiam definiri potest romantica vel sexualis attrahendi vis ullius sexus vel identitatis generis, quod pansexualitas appellatur.[8][9][10]

Vocabulum bisexualitas praecipue ad humanas attrahendi vires erga mares et feminas significandas adhibetur.[4][5][6] Quae sexualitas, cum heterosexualitate et homosexualitate, est una ex tribus principalibus generibus virium attrahendi propensionis sexualis intra continuum heterosexuale–homosexuale. Identitas bisexualis attrahendi vires aeque erga ambos sexus non semper significat.[11]

Bisexualitas in variis societatibus humanis videtur[12] ut alibi in regno animalium.[13][14][15] Vocabulum autem bisexualitas, vocabulis heterosexualitas et homosexualitas simile, saeculo undevicensimo excogitatum est.[16]
