Distributio cosmopolita in biogeographia est proprietas taxi, cuius distributio trans omne tellus vel plurimas eius partes in habitatione propria extenditur. Exempli gratia Orcinus orca familiae Delphinidarum distributionem cosmopolitam habet, quae per omnes telluris oceanos extenditur. Haec proprietas etiam nonnullis morbis adhiberi potest. Inter alia exempla sunt homo, Parmelia sulcata species lichenis, et Mytilus genus molluscorum.[1] Distributio cosmopolita multa tolerationum circumiectus genera[2][3] vel rapidam dissipationem biologicam contra tempus ab evolutione requisitum significare potest.[4]
